仲間の皆さんこんばんは。アルコホーリクのデボラです。ジャン、司会を務めてくれてありがとう。そして私が（またしても）「know-it-all (何でも知っていると思い込んでいる人たち)」から距離を置くことを許してくれてありがとう……なぜなら、それがまさに私だったからです！自分の最悪の面から距離を置くことができました。
私は、実際にお酒を手にする何年も前に、すでにアルコホーリクになっていました。6歳のとき、年上の男性に虐待的な状況に追い込まれ……私は身動きができず、彼が去るのをじっと待っていました。その後、地面に寝転び、棒や石で小さな村を作って遊びました。そのとき私は、神はサディストで、私たちはみんな神に苦しめられ、辱められるためにここにいるのだと決めつけたのです。
私は40年以上もの間、「神の裁き役」でした。わかりますか！ まさにステロイド漬けの傲慢さです！！しかし、他人を裁き神を責めたところで、問題は解決しませんでした。もちろん、色々と（飲むための工夫を）試してはみたのですけれど（笑）。すべてがガタッと止まったのは、「受け入れることこそ答えだ」という言葉を読んだときでした。自我という重荷から解放され、私は神、その愛、力、そして神の示す生き方に沿って歩み始めました。
私にとっての回復は、長年の傷と恨みを癒すための旅でした。現在の私は新しい自由と新しい幸福を知っていると言えます……自分を満足させることよりも、他の人を愛することにより多く関わる毎日です (^^

good evening all! my name is Deborah w and I am an alcoholic. Thank you Jan for chairing and giving me permission (again) to disengage from know-it-alls .... because that was me!! so disengage from my worst self.
i became an alcoholic years before i picked up. when i was six an older man had me trapped in an abusive situation.... i froze and waited for him to go away. then i hit the dirt, building a little village out of sticks and rocks. I decided that God was a sadist and we were all here for him to torment and humiliate.
For more than 40 years I was "God's accountant." Get that!! Arrogance on steroids!! But judging others and blaming God didn't work too well for me, though not for lack of trying (^^ It all came to a grinding screeching halt when I read "Acceptance is the Answer." Relieved of the burden of Self I began to attune myself into God, his love, his power and his way of life.
Recovery for me has been a healing journey for a lifetime of hurt and resentment. I can say today that I know a new freedom and a new happiness... more involved with loving others than servicing myself :))
