WELCOME TO THE ESH WEEKLY MEETING

The structure of an ESH meeting is that the chairperson selects a topic for the week and anyone in the group has the option to share on that topic. In order to keep the postings to a minimum for the entire group, we suggest that personal messages be sent directly to that person and not via the Group.

Comments should be closely related to recovery from alcoholism. "The ESH meeting will begin no earlier than Sunday morning anytime after midnight EST and members are requested to post their shares no later than the following Saturday night at 11:59 PM EST." All members are encouraged to share their A.A. anniversary on their annual sobriety date. Tell the group what your life was like before AA, what happened, and what it's like today.

The Promises found on pages 83 and 84 are frequently read at the close of many meetings. For a time longer than I really care to admit to, I viewed these as just a part of the format of the meetings. I gave these readings little thought other than thinking maybe fear of economic insecurity meant I might get a better job or hit the lottery. However, one night I heard something that had not really registered with me before...“Our whole attitude and outlook upon life will change”, and I realized that was happening. No burning bushes or white light experiences, just an awareness that changes were taking place in my life. I had experienced that profound alteration described by Herbert Spencer in the Spiritual Experience chapter of the Big Book. That was one of my Ah Ha moments in recovery.

So a suggested topic could be your thoughts or experiences with The Promises, or it could be your Ah Ha moment.
