AAのどの文献で読んだか覚えていませんが、第6ステップの "entirely" (完全に)という言葉は、完璧を目指すということを指摘していました。
前述したように、どんなステップも複雑にする必要はありません。 目標は目標であって、日々の実践とは違います。私たちは自分が完璧でないことを知っていますが、ステップ6は、完璧な方向に向かって足踏みし続けるようにと、我々を励ましています。私たちにとって、完成させること、完璧にすることは死ということです。 私たちの日々の足掻きは影響されません。我々は性格上の欠点を手放して、人生/愛/

Dear all,
I don't remember what AA literature I read that pointed out the 6th step with "entirely" gives us the goal of perfection.
As mentioned, we don't need to complicate any step. A goal is a goal, not the daily practice. We know we are not perfect, but Step Six encourages us to keep trudging in the direction of perfection, Latin for completion. For us completing or perfecting is death. Our daily trudge isn't affected. We practice letting go, being ready for Life/Love/ HP/G-d to be in charge, to decide to take away or USE our character defects. We know our job description doesn't even come close to those kinds of decisions/tasks. My job is to be ready, trudge, be ready, trudge, keep practicing the trudge, and not taking back the management job.
When I see and acknowledge a tendency that might lead to negative thoughts or action (or inaction), I can then turn it over. Awareness and acceptance is necessary - not a coincidence that 6 comes after 4 and 5. A sponsor suggested that if I have any trouble with a step, go back one (or two) and see if that needs more work. What I noticed is that, if I am thorough and honest, one step automatically ushers in the next. If I'm struggling with the 6th, I might need to uncover more, and talk to my sponsor, then I have everything ready to turn over for HP to deal with.
A Gandhi quote is one way of looking at the 6th:
My imperfections and failures are as much a blessing from God as my successes and talents, and I lay both at [God's] feet.
