ソーバーになったことが自分の行動にどんな変化をもたらしたかって？うーん、自分で何かを変えたかどうかは分かりません。ただ確かなのは、最後の一杯を飲むのをやめて、ここの仲間（そしてあなたのような人々）と一緒にいるようになってから、自分の行動にはたくさんの変化があったということです。でも、それを変えたのは私自身じゃなかったと思います。
「自分なりに理解する神」は、私がAAに来たときには存在していませんでした。しかし今では、神を信じ、神にゆだねることが私の日常生活の中心になっています。まだ自分自身や自分の計画について考える時間は多いですが、最終的には、自分の策略とは何の関係もなく、神と神が私の行く先に置いてくれる人々に奉仕をするために自分ができることにすべて関係している「第一の目的（訳註：お酒を飲まないこと）」を思い出します。これは確かに大きな変化ですね！
もう一つの変化は、AAに来る前の私は「気が進まない」という理由だけで、進歩、奉仕、または犠牲となることをすぐに止めてしまっていたのですが、現在では大抵、「気が進まなくても」「やりたくなくても」、必要なことをやるようになりました。

Hi, everyone. My name is Dave and I am an alcoholic. Thanks for the literary twist on our topic, George, and for your friendship over these many years. Welcome to all and congrats to AA (and HP!) for any milestones we celebrate this week. The program works!
What changes have I made in my behavior since getting sober? Well, I’m not sure I made any. To be certain, plenty about my behavior has changed since putting down my last drink and throwing in with this crowd (and more like you), but I’ve gotta say, it wasn’t me.
The “God of my understanding” didn’t exist when I got here. Today, believe in and reliance upon God is central to my daily life. I still spent a lot of time thinking about me and my plans, but eventually remember that I have a primary purpose that has nothing to do with my schemes and everything to do with what I can do to be of service to God and the people he puts in my path. That’s certainly a switch!
One last change is that before I got here, “I don’t feel like it,” was sufficient rationale to stop any progress, service, or sacrifice in its tracks. Today, I usually do the things that need to be done “whether I feel like it or not” or “even if I don’t want to.”
