On a cold and bitter January day, fifteen years ago, my husband, Paul died at home, surrounded by family, a few A.A. members, and a couple of dogs. Even the hospice nurse mentioned that it felt like a spiritual experience. A special A.A. member who thought of Paul as her surrogate Dad and her co-sponsor, and has a lovely voice, sang Amazing Grace as they took Paul's body out of the house. It was indeed an amazing moment which is etched in my memory and I cherish it.
