記念日は 1972/7/30 です。
回復の初期に、なぜ私はAA活動を早く終わらせたかったのか？それは多分自分があとどれくらい生きられるかわからなかったからです。10年ほど経った頃、これは一生の問題なのだと気づきました ... キャー！なんていう要求なんだ、とてもじゃないが出来っこない！
神様「今日一日」をありがとう。それは最初の一杯を口にしないためだけでなく、AAの生き方を実践するためにも有効でした。さて、それから50年以上経ち、私はまだシラフで、いまだに霊的に成長することに関心を持っています。神様には別の計画があったのでしょう ... 34歳の時、私は このまま死んでしまいたいくらい調子が悪かった ... 生き方を学ぶのにどれだけの時間が必要なのか、私は知らなかったのです。生き方を学ぶことは私にとって難しいレッスンで、良い日もあれば悪い日もあります。だから私は「素晴らしいと／畏れ多い、の混じり合った現実の生活」と言っています。30年以上の結婚生活で、私はちょっとした知恵を学びました："always" と "never"という言葉を使うのを忘れること。それは私が今ここに、神の臨在にとどまるための助けとなりました。そう、時間がかかるものはかかるのです。ゆっくりゆっくりと、私は優雅に年を取る方法を学んでいます。

Thank you, Mark, for chairing this week, and Happy A.A. Anniversary to you and all other July celebrants.My name is Louise, recovered alcoholic, and my sobriety date is June 30, 1972
Why did I want to be done quickly in early recovery? Maybe it was that I did not know how long I had to live? After around 10 years, I realized that this was going to be a lifelong matter...yikes, what an order I can't go through with it!
Thank God for "one day at a time". Not only did that work for not picking up that first drink, but it could also work for practicing our A.A. way of life.Well, fast forward 50 + years and here I am, still sober and still interested in growing spiritually. Guess that God had a different plan...when I was 34 years old I wanted so badly to just die and get it over with...little did I know how much time I would have to learn how to live. Learning to live is a difficult lesson for me, some days are better than others, hence my saying "the wonderful/awful mix of a real life". In 30+ years of marriage I learned a bit of wisdom: forget using the words "always and never". That helped me to stay in the present, in the presence of God. Yes, time takes time, and slowly by slowly I am learning how to grow old gracefully.
