最初は中途半端な気持ちでステップを踏んでしまいました。ステップ6での私の反応は、予想通り "ああ、どうでもいい "でした。私は、この
ハイヤーパワー（HP=ハイヤーパワー）神、または高次の力、自分を超えた大きな力。意志と生き方をゆだねる対象。
とかいうものが私の欠点を取り除く準備が完全にできていたのでしょうか？そうですね......私に欠点など無いけどね！私が長年にわたり、自我の問題をいくつか抱えていたことにお気づきでしょうか。
私が今日、ソーバーでいられることは奇跡です！私は、変化を理解し、受け入れ、そして準備するようになりました - そして、私は今もまだ学んでいます。今日私は、他の人からのサポートと尊敬が、いかにソーバーを保つのに役立つかを実感しました。夫はたまにビールを飲みますが、家では飲みません。彼には "男の隠れ家 "があるんです。私たちは人里離れた牛の牧場に住んでいます。ダラージェネラル以外のお店に行くのには、車で20分もかかるんです。私はさっき食料品店に行く準備をしていたのですが、彼が鍵を集めてトラックに向かっているのに気づきました。私は、何か買ってきてあげられるかと尋ねました、でも、彼は自分でビールを買ってくるから、買ってきてとは言わないと言いました。それで、私たちは別々の車でお互いの近くの店に行きました。もちろん、私はまだたくさん買いたいものがあったので、彼の1時間後くらいに家に帰りました。(そして私はこだわりが強いので)。

I'm Nancy and I'm alcoholic.
I did a half-assed job of going through the Steps initially. My reaction to Step 6 was, as expected, "Yeah, whatever." Was I entirely ready for this HP thing to remove my defects? Sure, I was...as if I had any! You might notice I've had a few ego issues over the years.
The miracle is that I'm sober today! I have come to realize, accept, and be ready for change - ANYWAY I could get it. And, I'm still learning. Today I was made aware how much support and respect from others helps keep me sober. My husband drinks beer occasionally, but not in our house. He's got a "man cave." We live on a cattle ranch in the middle of nowhere. It's 20 minutes to drive to any store besides a Dollar General. I was getting ready to go to the grocery earlier and I noticed he had gathered his keys and was headed to his truck. I asked if I could pick something up for him, but he said no, that he was going to get some beer and didn't want to ask me to buy it. So we went in separate cars to stores near each other. Of course, I got home about an hour after he did since I had lots more to buy (and I'm picky).
