やAAにようこそ！５月にお祝いするみんなも、おめでとう！初めて「約束」が読まれたとき、それに完全に引き込まれたよ。そりゃ、それが酒を飲んでた理由です ... 「約束」に書いてあるあのことを手に入れるためにね。バーの扉をくぐった瞬間、新しい自由と幸せを感じた。それがすぐそこに迫っていると感じたからね。そして、一杯ごとに、感情や心配をまったく感じなくなるのが近づいているような気がしたなあ。私が生きて、安全に、半ば正気でいられるようにしてくれていたものの代償がどんどん高くなっていくにつれ、それに必要だったものが何であるか、それがアルコールだとは思いもよらなかった。ソーバーになって、みんなの話を聞き始めて、自分の体験と結びつけるようになると、みんながアルコホーリクの災難に苦しんでいるのではなく、道を見つけて、「約束」にたどり着いたことに気付いた。そしてその方法を使っても、何か代償を払わなくていいってことにね。・・・Oh my God 何て素晴らしいんだ。最初からこれの事を

Hello Lin Chamberlain Grateful alcoholic. Sober since the first meeting 5/20/85 and always amazed and grateful when I type that. Welcome to newbies to ESH or to AA and congrats to all the other celebrants in May. The first time I heard the promises read it got my full attention. That is why I drank...to get those things described in the promises. I knew a new freedom and happiness as I walked in the door of the bar because it was coming and with each shot or drink I was closer to not feeling feelings or worries at all. As the price of the thing that was allowing me to live and stay safe and halfway sane got higher and higher I could just NOT understand that it was the alcohol. As I got sober and began to hear you people tell me your tales and matching them with mine began to understand that you were not suffering from the disaster of alcoholism but had found a way out and a way to those promises without a price to be paid for using it....OMG it was just amazing. I don't show them to my newcomers right off. I let them find them while reading and studying the BB and then we talk.
