の仲間の皆さんもようこそ。
私は機能不全の家庭で育ったので、人生にどう向き合うかを学ぶことができませんでした。（家庭の）外の世界に出て、依存症者のアルコホーリクとなり、そしてようやくこの（AAの）
プログラム12ステッププログラム、回復のため原理、AAの基本プログラム。
にたどり着いたのです。
状況を自分でコントロールできるという古い考えを手放し、（状況に対して）降伏すること、それが最初のステップでした。そして、自分のこれまでの生き方がいかに狂っていたかを認めることになったのです。
その後、人との関わり方、場所や物事への向き合い方を学ぶことになりました。学校では、ストレスへの対処法なんて教えてくれませんでした。少なくとも私が育った時代には、いかなる問題への対処法も教わることはありませんでした。
そう、ステップは私の人生を導いてくれました。自分の問題を自分よりも大きな存在にゆだね、自分自身を見つめ、そして自分の問題 ―― あの深く、暗く、汚れた秘密までも ―― を仲間と分かち合うことを学んだのです。
そして次にやってきたのは、もっとも困難な部分でした。それは、自我への囚われや、自分の欠点から解放されることでした。私はこれまでの人生で一度も人に助けを求めたことがありませんでした。しかしステップを通して、私は自分の人生を神の配慮にゆだねることを学んだのです。
そしてステップは、私の人生で最も困難な時期を乗り越える手助けをしてくれました。私は人生で直面するあらゆる状況を、ステップを用いることで乗り越えることができるのです。
ステップを実践すれば、心の安らぎを保つことができます。それが、私にとってのやり方なのです。

Thanks Jan for getting us started and congratulations on the anniversary and anyone else celebrating. And welcome newcomers.
I grew up in a dysfunctional family, so I never learned how to deal with life. I went out there, became an addict alcoholic. And I finally got to the program.
I had to let go of my old notions of being able to control situations and surrender, that was the first step, and then to realize how insane my life was.
After that, it was learning how to deal with people. Places and things. In school, they never taught us how to deal with stress. At least when I was growing up or any kind of problem.
So the steps guided me through life, turning over my problems to someone greater than me. And to look at myself and share my problems with others, those deep dark dirty secrets.
Then the hard part came trying to relieve myself of ego bondage of self and character defects. I never in life asked for help. But through the steps, I learned to turn my life over to the care of god.
And the steps guided me through the most difficult times of my life. I can use the steps in any situation in life that I face and get through it.
Maintaining my serenity, if I work them and that's how it works for me.
