いやいや、そんなことはない！私は18歳でアルコールが合法で買える、ニューオーリンズで育ちました。今はルイジアナ州南西部の人里離れた牧場に住んでいます。私たちの教区／郡では、いまだにほとんどの場所で酒を買うことができません。でもありがとう、そんなことは私には関係が無いのです！！

今週末、女性のための Sisters in Sobriety リトリート（修養施設？）に向かいます。何年も通っているし、大好きなのです ... たいていはね。時々 あまりに "イエス的（キリスト教的）" になりすぎて、不快に感じることもあります。そのため、何度か欠席したことがあります、AAとは違うのです。今年のルームメイトは私のような考えを持つ女性です。私たちはいつもお互いを見つめて、起こったことに黙って目を丸くしたり、活動をサボって散歩に出かけたりすることができます。

Last question first: Did I imagine my life the way it is today?
Good grief, NO!! I grew up in New Orleans where you could buy alcohol legally at 18. Now I'm living on a cattle ranch in the middle of nowhere southwest Louisiana! In our Parish/County you STILL can't buy alcohol in most places! Thankfully, that's not my problem!!
I do have "contented sobriety." I believe it came to me because I opened myself to peace. What helps me is reaching out when I need help. I've learned that I can't do this by myself. I need my HP, my sober (and supportive "normal") friends. I can ask for help!
I'm headed to a women's Sisters in Sobriety retreat this weekend. I've attended for many years and love them...most of the time. Sometimes they get too "Jesus-y" and I feel uncomfortable. I have skipped a couple because of this, which isn't what AA is about. This year my roommate will be a woman that thinks like me. We can always look at each other and silently roll our eyes at what's going on, or skip an activity and go for a walk.
Thanks for letting me share. I'm grateful that I woke up sober today!
