私の名前はリン・チェンバレン、間違いなくアルコホリックです。私は神の恵みと皆さんの助けによってソーバーです。
1985年5月20日の最初のミーティング以来、本当に感謝しています。私はAAに参加したとき、AAの創設者たちが発見した
他のアル中を助けることでソーバーでいられるという秘訣を知りませんでした。

そしてソーバー45日目にして、

スポンサーAAプログラムなどを指導してくれる先輩役のメンバー
になってほしいと頼まれたとき、私はその女性に電話をして
どうやったらやさしく断れるか聞いてみたら、彼女は「いけません」と言いました。その
ニューカマーAAに来たばかりの新しい仲間
が尋ねられるのはあなただけかもしれません、
あなたのソーバーが短かろうが、45日だろうが、あなたのステップが step 0 だろうが、気にすることはありません、喜んでできるだけ彼女を助けるのですと。
そして、うまくいって二人ともソーバーを続けるか、彼女がステップを行うのにより適した人を見つけるまで、できる限り彼女を助けてあげるのですと。
1985年当時もそうだったし、先週我々の ZOOM ミーティングに新しい女性が初ミーティングとしてやって来た時もそうでした。
私は彼女に電話番号を送り、彼女が歩いていけるほど非常に近くに住んでいるのだとわかりました。
そして、翌日にはF2F(Face to Face)ミーティングが可能で、solid chip を手に入れる(?)ことができました。
3回のミーティングで、彼女が「問題があると思う」から「たぶんアルコホリックだと思う」に変わっていくのを見ました。
私は○○で、間違いなくアルコホリックです。パワフルで、仲間と共にはたらくことは、今でも私を驚かせます。

Hello all you ESHr’s. Welcome to all newbies and congrats to all those celebrating milestones this week. My name is Lin Chamberlain and I am definitely an alcoholic. I am sober by God’s grace and with your help since my first meeting on May 20, 1985 and I’m really grateful for that. I didn’t know when I got to AA that the founders had discovered their trick to finally being able to stay sober was based on helping other alkies to get sober. All I knew was that woman said..go give that new comer your phone number. And when one of them inevitably asked me to be her sponsor at 45 days sober I called that woman and asked her how to gently tell her no and she said oh no…you may be the only one she has the balls to ask… don’t you dare. You tell her how long you have …45 days…where you are in the steps…0 …and you will be glad to help her as best you can till it either works out and you both stay sober or she finds someone she is more comfortable with doing the steps. That worked in 1985 and it worked last week when a new gal showed up for her first meeting in our Zoom group. I sent her my phone number and discovered she lives very close, doesn’t drive, and was available for a F2F meeting the next day to get a solid chip. We took care of that and on the basis of 3 meetings I watched her go from I think I have a problem to I suppose I’m probably alcoholic to I’m *** and I’m definitely an alcoholic.
