からの回復について、インタビューを受けていました。ロジャーをシルエットにしたその撮影セットの光の当て方に、私は興味をそそられました。ロジャーのストーリーは個人的なものでした。その詳細な内容の多くは覚えていませんが、ロジャーの声は魅力的でメロウでした。酔っ払いとはまるで違う聞こえ方をしました。
その後すぐに私の人生は下り坂になり、私の飲酒や家庭生活も急降下しました。翌年4月、私は地元のAA地域オフィスに電話し、アーチーが近くのAAミーティングの場所を教えてくれました。 私の生活は悪化し、私はさらに2回以上AAに電話をして、アーチーの指示に従って、ヨハネスブルグのローズバンクのミーティングに行きました。それは34年前、1989年8月24日のことで、私が最後の酒を飲んだのはその前日でした。それ以来、私はAAの提案に従ってきました。私が実行したAAの原理は、私の人生観を大きく変えました。私のためにまたここにいてくれてること、そしてこの数年間、私のために尽くしてくれたことすべてに感謝します。あなたに平和と平穏があることを信じて - 今日一日。

Thanks Jeff for your opening mail and topic.Thanks to all who have shared. Tony recovered alcoholic, grateful to be with again this week. The message was carried to me long before I attended my first meeting by Roger around January 1987. Roger was being interviewed about his recovery from alcoholism. The way the set was lit, with Roger in silhouette intrigued me. Roger's story was a personal one. I don't remember much of the detail - Roger's voice was inviting and mellow. He didn't sound like a drunk.
My life went downhill pretty soon after that, and my drinking and family life also took a nosedive. In April the following year I phoned the local AA area office and Archie gave me directions for an AA meeting nearby. My life deteriorated, and I phoned the AA office twice more, before following Archie's directions to the Rosebank, Johannesburg Meeting. That was on the 24th August 1989 - 34 years ago with my last drink the day before. Since then I have been following AA directions. The AA principals I have applied have changed my whole outlook on life. Thanks for being here again for me, and all you have done for me through these years. Trust you have Peace and Serenity - one day at a time.
