やあ、みなさん。Gary、アルコホーリクです。Beth、平安の祈りのトピックをありがとう。それと今週バースデーを迎えるみなさん、おめでとう。
私は平安の祈りが好きです。私は飲んでいた頃にその祈りを発見し、紙に書いてもらって、ベッドの横に貼っていました。どこで見つけたのかわからないし、AAで使われているなんてことも知らなかったけれど、どういうわけか（神様がそうしてくれた？）気に入ってしまい、ついつい 手にとってしまいました。のちにAAに参加した時に、ミーティングの最後でよく紹介される "あなたが理解する神様へ、一緒に平安の祈りをしましょう" というやつが大好きでした。その頃私は、クリスチャンとして育ってきたものの、神とは何なのか、誰なのか、まだよく分かっていませんでした。 だから、この言葉は私にとって大きな意味を持つものでした。そのおかげで、私は「それ」に向かって祈ることができるようになりました。そしてそれは最初の頃もその後も、困難な時に助けを求めるために、ある問題に対して自分が何かできることもあれば、できないこともあり、神様の手に委ねるしかない事を受け入れるための、まるでマントラのようなものとして続いています。
私は今日も平安の祈りを唱え、そして今でも同じように（自分の心の中でも）それを（仲間に）紹介しています。なぜなら、それが私の助けになるからです。皆さん、ありがとうございました。Gary

Hi all, My name is Gary and I am an alcoholic. Thank you Beth for your topic on the serenity prayer.. and a happy anniversary to all those who are celebrating this week. I love the serenity prayer. I found it in my drinking days, and had it written and pinned up beside my bed. I dont know where I found it, and I didnt know anything about it being used in AA... but for some reason (God?) I liked it and latched on to it. When I later joined AA, I loved the prayer as it was often introduced at the end of the meeting, "please join us in the serenity prayer using the word God as you understand it". At that time although I had been brought up as a Christian, I still wasnt sure what or who I thought God was. So this opened things up for me. It allowed me to pray to.."it" And so it continued.. in my early days and beyond... it became almost a mantra to ask for help when things were difficult.. and to accept that sometimes I could do something about an issue... sometimes I couldnt and I had to leave it in Gods hands. I still use it today... and I still introduce it in the same way..(even in my own mind, silently) because that what helps me. Thank you all for being there Gary
