今週のテーマからは外れますが、時々私は、AAを通じて得た自分の
ソブラエティ神様・ハイヤーパワーとつながり、お酒を飲まない生活
への感謝を分かち合いたくなります。
ここ南ルイジアナでは、現在マルディグラ (カトリックの伝統に基づくお祭り) のシーズンです。明日はマルディグラ当日です。ここ数週間、格調高いパーティーや舞踏会、パレードやフロート（山車）、仮装、そして四六時中の大量の飲酒が続いています。「祝日」とされているため、学校や公的機関も休みになります。
私が回復中のアルコホーリクであることに、どれほど感謝しているか分かりますか？！！「古き良き時代」を思い返しては、酒に慣れていない初心者たちを笑いながら、自分は当たり前のように飲んでいたことを思い出します。彼らにとっては特別な機会の飲酒でも、私にとってはそれが日常でした。
今の生き方のほうが好きなんだと思います。ソーバーでいてくれる仲間たちのおかげです！人生は素晴らしいですね。

This isn't our weekly topic, but sometimes I have to share my gratitude for my sobriety through AA.
It's Mardi Gras season here in south Louisiana. Tomorrow is Mardi Gras Day. For the last few weeks, there have been galas, balls, parades, floats, costumes, and lots of drinking all the time. It's a "holiday" so schools and public offices are closed.
Do you know how grateful I am to be an alcoholic in recovery?!! I keep flashing back on those "good old days" when I celebrated but also laughed at the novices who couldn't hold their liquor. All that drinking was a special occasion for them, but for me it was the norm.
I think I prefer my life now, thanks to sober people like you! Life is good.
