Hi, everyone. My name is Dave and I am an alcoholic. Thanks for you topic and lead, Pam, and for your example of recovery. Welcome to all and congrats to AA (and HP!) for any milestones we celebrate - like Pam’s 42 years sober! The program works!
My sponsor has 45 years. He often talks about the critical importance of remembering that we alcoholics need to not drink. Often, at the end of a meeting here in the Richmond area, the chair will ask if there are any AA-related announcements for the good of the group — I often say “Don’t drink,” in reply. Remember, that’s part of our primary purpose. Alcohol is cunning, baffling, and powerful and my “forgetter” is extraordinary.
