私が最初にステップを進めたときは、

ニューカマーAAに来たばかりの新しい仲間
の頃は理解していると思っていましたが、その後のプロセスを通じてどれだけ多くのことを学んだかに驚きました。それを踏まえた上で、『12&12』も特にステップ6と7をはっきりさせる上で役立つと思うので、参考として利用しています。

Hi all! My name is Laurie and I am an alcoholic. Congrats to all who are celebrating milestones, reminding all of us that this program works.
Thanks Rick for leading this week.
My first trip through the steps was based on the directions in the Big Book. When I sponsor someone going through the steps the first time, we read the Big Book together as my first sponsor did with me. There has always been a benefit, in my experience, to discussing the concepts together. As a newcomer, I thought I understood it and was amazed during this process as how much I learned. That being said, I also find the 12 & 12 helpful for clarity, particularly for Steps 6 and 7, so I use it as a supplement.
The initial foundation is always the Big Book.
In order to continue to grow, I've found it helpful with the women I sponsor to read and discuss other literature, AA and non-AA. I'm certainly not an expert, so it's about reading and discussing the concepts. We both learn. And it's with mutual consent - not something that is a requirement of sponsorship. Examples include the stories in the Big Book, the AA Service Manual, Pass it On, and AA Comes of Age. Another book I've gone through with a long-term sponsee is The Spirituality of Imperfection by Ernest Kurtz and Katharine Ketcham. I am starting it now with another woman I sponsor. And I'm about to start through A New Pair of Glasses with a sponsee.
