テーマは ... 「もし」AAの無い人生だったら、ですね。どちらにしても、恐ろしい道であることに、すぐに気付くでしょう。その上で私がやらなければならないことは、
ビッグブックビッグブック・AAの基本テキスト（書籍）
を読むことだけなのです。最初の (英語版) 160ページ以上と、個人の物語の中で、何が起こるのかと、何が実際に起こったのかが語られています。
本を読むだけではなく、ミーティングでも聞くのです。AAのない人生がどんなものだったか、私には推測することしか出来ません。飲むのをやめたばかり頃の方向に私が進んでいたら、今日、私は生きていなかったでしょう。
あるいはもっと悪いことに、生きてはいるけれども家族に見捨てられ、困窮していたかもしれません。だから私はこの感謝と楽しみの時期において、私はAAの提案に従い、今日やっていることを明日も続け、
ソブラエティ神様・ハイヤーパワーとつながり、お酒を飲まない生活
の道を進み続けるつもりです。

Hello. I’m Pam, a grateful alcoholic. Congratulations on your sobriety, celebrants. Bobbie, happy anniversary on December 9. Welcome to those new to ESH or AA.
Find a topic…the “what ifs” and a life without AA. It doesn’t take long to realize both are scary paths. Furthermore, all I need to do is read the Big Book. Within the first 160+ pages and stories, it's told what would happen, did happen.
Not just read the book, listen in meetings. All I can do is speculate what life would be like without AA. I can only guess. If it remained in the direction it was headed when I stopped drinking, I likely wouldn’t be alive today.
Or worse yet, alive but destitute, shunned by every family member. So in this season of gratitude and merriment, I’ll continue to follow directions and do tomorrow what I am doing today to stay on this road of sobriety.
