ステップ８から続くステップ９。埋め合わせは最初の1年のソーバーの正にその後、偶然その機会を得ました。私の
スポンサーAAプログラムなどを指導してくれる先輩役のメンバー
テックス、パティ―・シューはステップ９の埋め合わせをすることは必要です。と提案しました。それで私は取り組みました。彼女はまたこう提案しました。それは、もし私がステップ９をやり続けなければ、たぶん再びどこかの時点で飲むでしょう。私は彼女を信じました。
その当時私の元夫に対する埋め合わせは、手紙という形を取っていたと思います。もし実際に彼と話をしていたら、話が脱線してしまうと思っていたので。両親にたいして面と向かって埋め合わせをすることは、最も難しいものでした…私が飲んで両親に言葉で悪態をついていたときとても支えになっていてくれたのですから。両親が私を助けてくれていた長い間、実際には彼らに対して恥ずべき振る舞いをしていました。子どもたち…埋め合わせは初めから一生のものです。私は娘たちとは愛情を込めて大事にしています。息子の早すぎた死の以前、私たちは”最良”のでした。

Hello. Pam, a grateful alcoholic. Congratulations to anyone celebrating any length of time without drinking and welcome newcomers to ESH and or AA.
Tina, happy birthday…and thank you for leading our meeting. Amends…Late coming to the meeting, so will make this short. Make a list…parents, husband, children, service manager at Chevrolet garage.
Step 8 leading into step 9. Amends happened right after the first year sober. My sponsor Tex, Patty Sue, suggested is was necessary to take Step 9, so dive in. She also strongly suggested if I didn’t follow through Step 9, I’d probably drink again at some point. I believed her.
The amends to my then ex-husband happened in letter form, as I thought he might derail if I actually talked with him. Making face to face amends to my parents was the most difficult…they had been so supportive when I was drinking and so many times I verbally lashed out at them. Really shameful behavior toward them all the while they were rescuing me. Children…the amends to them is lifelong from the beginning. I cherish the relationship with my daughters. Prior to my son’s untimely death, we were beyond “good.”
