今週、司会をリードしてくれます、パムさん、ありがとうございます。今日もソーバーでいられる皆さん、おめでとうございます。私は、アルコホーリクのスーザンです。
初めてミーティングに来たとき、受け入れられていると感じたことに、驚きました。私は、すぐ、仲間のひとりになりました。肩書だったり、住所だったりは、不要でした。ただ、お酒を止めたいという願望があれば、十分でした。（多分、初めは、そのことを知りませんでした。）でも、私は、そうしたかったのです。
初めて、話をしている人に話しかけるのではなく、聴くようになったのです。聴くことが学びになったので、学ぶために聴いていました。
この２つのことが合わさって、私が受け入れられたこと・聴くことを学んだことで、ミーティングに通い続けました。

Dear ESH:
Thanks Pam for leading us this week. Congratulations to all celebrating sobriety today. My name is Susan and I am an alcoholic.
My surprise when first coming into the rooms was the acceptance that I felt. I immediately was a part of. I didn't have to have a certain title, live in a specific place, etc...the only requirement was a desire to stop drinking (and I probably didn't know that at first), but I wanted it.
I also for the first time started listening instead of talking over anyone else that was speaking. I learned when I listened, so I listened to learn.
Those two things combined - the acceptance I was awarded and learning to listen kept me in the rooms long enough to find a higher power and get a sponsor, work the steps and live has never been the same.
