に新しく参加される皆さん、おめでとうございます。ドロシー、トピックとシェアを、ありがとう。この本には・・・パッセージでも、チャプターでも、ステップでも、ストーリーでも、いろんな選択があるよね。この本に向かい合ったある時点で "ドクター、アルコホーリク、アディクション" を受け入れるとの答えが大きくなってきたのです。そして、第3章では...私たちはアルコホーリクであるということを、内なる自分自身に完全に認める必要があったのです。残りの次のページには”これが我々が試してきたいくつかのヤリカタだ・・・"”それらを全部試してみたことを認めるって、何回聞いたかわからない。""
"私が生まれる前にこの本が書かれていたなんて驚嘆し、しかも、私の人生のストーリーの一部が幾つものページに記されている。（『メソッド』の朗読を聞くと、僕はいつも沈まぬモリー・ブラウン※の歌詞が思い出されるんだ…（※アメリカの歴史的人物であるマーガレット・ブラウン（通称：マリー・ブラウン）の通称。彼女は1912年のタイタニック号の沈没事故で生き残ったことで有名）「一人のときか、誰かと一緒のときだけ飲むのよ」）

Good afternoon from rainy rain Northern California. I’m Pam, a grateful alcoholic. Congratulations to sobriety celebrants and welcome to people new to ESH. Thank you, Dorothy for the topic and your share. The book…a passage, a chapter, the steps, a story(s), so many choices. At some point when I began to pay attention to the book, “Doctor, Alcoholic, Addict” with acceptance being the answer loomed large. Then chapter three “ …we had to fully concede to our innermost selves that we were alcoholics.” And the rest of that page along with the following page “Here are some of the methods we have tried: … .” Unsure how many times I heard it before admitting I’d tried them all. I still marvel that the book was written before I was born, yet part of my life script is on so many pages. (When I hear “the methods” read, invariably the lyrics from an Unsinkable Molly Brown song come to mind…only drink when you’re all alone or with somebody else.)
Frequently on a Monday I attend a meeting in Eureka about seven miles from my town. Hearing parts of the Big Book read before the meeting and sometimes the promises at the end, if the chair wishes, is always an affirming action.
