へようこそ。Beth、トピックとシェアをありがとう。確かに、ここでも "things" が異常な状態にあることがあります。セレニティの祈り...1982年秋にこの家に引っ越してきてから、キッチンのシンクの右側の壁に設置されています。一日のうち何度も目にするので、視覚的なリマインダーになっています。息子が殺されてからかなり長い間、この祈りは私のマントラでした。私の全てが今いる場所は、耐えられないので、私にセレニティを与えてください。一生懸命に祈ったこともあったし、まるでそれが起こることを望んでいるかのようでした...。また、別の場面では、ある不可能で非現実的な状況を変化させる勇気を神様に与えていただき、それを望んでいるものになるようチャレンジしたこともありました。そう思うたびに、ステップ3から外れてしまったという自覚が芽生えました。一度や二度ではなく、私は神さまに語りかけることを怠り、その代わりに、"Grant me... ... "で始めたことがあります。なんて傲慢なんでしょう！いつしか私は、声に出しての祈りではなく、頭で考えて祈りを行うようになりました。注意しなければならないことがあっても、それを乗り越えたり、回避したりするための答えがあるという安心感があります。信仰と信頼...今日は美しい日です。あなたにとってもそうであることを願っています。平和を...

Good afternoon. I’m Pam, a grateful alcoholic. Congratulations to people celebrating sobriety, no matter length of time, and welcome new people to ESH. Thank you, Beth for the topic and your share. Admittedly, sometimes “things” are just out of whack here, too. Serenity prayer…a plaque has resided on the wall to the right of the kitchen sink since moving into this house in fall 1982. I see it several times during the day, so definitely a visual reminder. For quite a long while after my son was killed, the prayer was my mantra. There were times I prayed it pretty hard, almost like willing it to happen…just grant me the Serenity because where all of me is right now is unbearable. Or in another situation I would challenge God to give me the courage to change some impossible, unrealistic situation to unfold and become what wanted it to be. Whenever I thought that way, the awareness that I had departed from step three became apparent. More than once I have failed to address God and instead began with, “Grant me… .” How arrogant is that! At some point I began thinking the prayer rather than giving it a voice. There is comfort knowing there will be an answer to ease me through or around whatever needs attention. Faith and trust…today is beautiful. I hope it is for you, too. Peace…
