This is my first, full report here, and is longer than what will be usual - I promise, but please read as a good introduction to future reports.
April Report:
Saturday, I represented ESH at an IGR conference to share concerns and information. As OIAA sifts through many questions and concerns, and reports back, I will send on what seems most relevant to ESH.
For new IGRs, and you - future IGRs (wink, wink) - an overview was presented: What does an IGR do?
The IGR is a bridge between a meeting - the decision base of AA - its members - and the greater AA, including the international conference. The rep. carries concerns and questions and suggestions from the group to the intergroup. To the group, the rep brings issues needing a vote. The group conscience dictates the way the rep. votes.
Any training or service opportunities or major events the IGR shares with the group.

The IGRs emphasized issues relating to virtual AA: its global nature, work and needs to relate to geography-based AA , internet safety, sponsorship issues online, contribution set-up - internationally, in addition to a few more. The one obvious solution is more interaction between meetings to share solutions and ideas.
Coordinating carrying the message might include discussions on how public service announcements would look - social media or craigslist forums? How can we support other meetings online - caravan meetings - visiting other meetings to show support?
So much is going on - new website, Unity Committee, ongoing 12th step work, and finances, and....., I will report a little every month, but not on everything. Ask any question, any time, and/or - the best - find out by joining (anyone can, as a nonvoting member) at aa-intergroup.org - find service opportunities and/or learn about the greater AA family.
Someone here asked about finances. I specifically asked for and received a report, and was told where to find it. The one online is here:
