今週はラ・ラ・ランドにいました。悪くないことがたくさん起こっていて、いろいろありました。マークのトピックを2つの異なる日付で読んで、混乱したのです。あれ？まあ、大したことじゃないよ。
先週末私は、地元で長く続いている Women's SIS の集まりに参加しました。何はともあれ、30年以上前にその一味が始めたときとはずいぶん変わりました。女性しかいないなんて馬鹿げてると、私は最初の10年間は行くのを拒否していました。それに教会センターで開催されるので、宗教キチガイたちに私のAA活動を邪魔されるのが嫌だったのです。（彼女たちはその施設を貸し切っていたのです）時が経って、私の考え方はいろいろと変わりました！私は、

という共通の目的を持った女性たち（男性の皆さんには悪気は無いですよ）と離れることを、楽しんできました。
私と同じくらい長く参加している、ある女性がいます。集まりのたびに彼女は数週間／数ヶ月の
ソブラエティ神様・ハイヤーパワーとつながり、お酒を飲まない生活
で（スリップして）戻ってきます！実に滑りやすい坂道です！私ならあきらめるところだけど、彼女は何度も来てくれます。

の期間を発表します。全員が起立し、リーダーがアナウンスするソーバーの年数によって、着席します。最後の一人（最も長い人）は、歓声を浴びます。奇しくも今年はそれが私でした！私は他の人たちに比べて、少なくとも5年以上は

が長かったのです！（そしておそらく、私はその人たちより8歳も年上なのです。）
ちょっとパニクって、

にメールをしました。自分の
ソブラエティ神様・ハイヤーパワーとつながり、お酒を飲まない生活
について超深遠なことを聞かれるんじゃないかと怖かったのです。

の返事はこうでした：「この場での私たちの使命の多くは、
ソブラエティ神様・ハイヤーパワーとつながり、お酒を飲まない生活
にある若い人たちを励ますことだと思います。それがあなたのできること。それで何かを得ることができれば、それは贈り物です」
誰からも深い質問はされませんでしたが、誰かを励ますことができたなら幸いです。私が受け取った贈り物は、「何度も足を運ぶこと」「努力すればうまくいく」ことを実感できたことです。そのほかにも、自分では気づいていないことがたくさんありました。これも

I'm Nancy and I'm alcoholic.
I've been in la-la land this week. Lots of stuff that's not bad going on, it's just stuff. I just read Mark's topic with 2 different dates and got confused. Huh? Oh, well, not really a big deal.
Last weekend, I was at a long standing Women's SIS retreat in my area. As anything, it's changed a lot since the gang got it started over 30 years ago. I refused to go the first 10 years because I thought it was stupid to only have women around, plus it was held at a church center and I didn't want to deal with religious freaks messing with my AA. (They just rent out the facility.) Time changed my way of thinking in so many ways! I've enjoyed being away with a bunch of women (no offense, guys) with a common goal - sobriety.
There's one woman who has been attending as long as I have. At each retreat she's back with a couple of weeks/months of sobriety! Talk about a slippery slope! I would have given up, but she keeps showing up.
We always announce our time of sobriety. The group stands, then we sit as the leader announces a number of years we've been sober. The last one standing gets cheered. Oddly, this year it was ME! I had at least 5 more years of sobriety than anyone else! ME? (I also realized that I'm probably 8 bellybutton years older than anyone else there.)
I kinda freaked out and had to text my sponsor. I was terrified that I'd be asked super deep, thoughtful stuff about my sobriety. Here's her response: "I think much of our calling at this point is to encourage those younger in sobriety. It's what you can give. If you get something, it is a gift."
Although nobody asked me any deep questions, I hope I was able to encourage someone last weekend. The gift I received was realization that "keep coming back" "works if you work it." Plus other stuff that I'm not aware of, but it's a gift, too!
