私はこの、我々の目的と誓約についての宣言が大好きです。これは、単に自分が
ホームグループAAの中で自分が所属し、活動の拠点となるグループ

ニューカマーAAに来たばかりの新しい仲間
や来てくれた仲間を歓迎するということだけを意味するものではありません。私は、自分の
ホームグループAAの中で自分が所属し、活動の拠点となるグループ
とその第一の目的（回復のメッセージを伝えること）を支えるために必要なあらゆる仕事を進んで行う覚悟が必要です。また、それは私の第一の目的（神と周りの人々に最大限に奉仕ができる自分になること）を支えることにもなります。さらに、AAの伝統に従うことでAAを守る手助けをする必要があるということでもあります。自分のエゴを膨らませて、AAにとっての脅威になってはいけません —— AAは私のことを必要としていませんが、私は間違いなくAAを必要としています。そして、まだミーティング会場に来ていない他の仲間たちも同じなのです。AAは、私がその準備できたときにそこに存在してくれていました。だから、これから来るであろう絶望的なアルコホーリックが教会の地下室（のミーティング会場）に潜り込み、かつて私たちが生きていた地獄から抜け出す方法を必死に探すまで、私はAAを存続させるために自分の役割を果たさなければなりません。

Hi, everyone. My name is Dave and I am an alcoholic. Thanks for the great topic, Mike. Welcome to all and congrats to AA (and HP!) for any milestones we celebrate this week. The program works!
Topic: I am responsible when anyone anywhere reaches out for help. I want the hand of AA To always be there and for that . I am responsible.
I love this declaration of purpose and commitment. It applies not just to me being willing to great newcomers or visitors at my home group. I need to be willing to do whatever work is necessary to support my home group and its primary purpose (to carry the message of recovery). It supports my primary purpose (to fit myself to be of maximum service to God and the people about me), too. It also means that I need to help preserve AA by following its traditions. I can’t let my ego puff me up and become a threat to AA — AA doesn’t need me, but I damn sure need AA, as do others who have yet to arrive in the rooms. AA was here for me - when I was ready - so I need to do my part to keep it going til the next hopeless sot creeps into a church basement, desperate to find a way out of the hell we all used to live in.
