みなさん、こんばんは。アルコホーリクのデボラです。今日一日、酒を飲まずにいられることに感謝しています。そして、こうしてオンラインで分かち合う機会を持てたことにも感謝します。司会をしてくださったボビーさん、そして分かち合ってくださったみなさん、ありがとうございます。このグループには、私よりも仏教について詳しい方がいると思います。ですが、私がいつも覚えている言葉があります。ブッダは「人生は苦である（一切皆苦）」と言いました。そして、「四苦八苦」というものがあります。その四苦とは、生・老・病・死ですが、アルコホーリクである私が特に共感するのは、次の苦しみです。
・嫌いなものに縛られること
・愛するものから引き離されること
そして、極めつけは
・欲しいものが手に入らないこと
これこそが、アルコホーリクである私そのものです。
そして、この失望、不満、イライラ、ネガティブさ、憤り、苦しさは、すべて「自分、自分、自分」という自己中心性に根ざしています。
もし私が正気を取り戻し、「自分の利己的なやり方ではどうにもならない。助けが必要だ」と認められるようになれば、その時に道が開けます。その時、私はどんな形であれ神に近づき、神の保護と配慮を求めます。神の道は私の道よりも優れていると認め、このシラフで祝福された幸せな人生を享受できる唯一の方法は、神の配慮に身をゆだねることだと悟ります。私はこれを一日に何度も行います。
まず立ち止まって静かになり、それから神に洞察力を求めます。
そして... この生き方は本当にうまくいっています！

Good evening all.. my name is Deborah w and I am an alcoholic, grateful to be sober today and I have this online means to share with you. Thank you Bobby for chairing and to all who have shared. There is a member of this group who knows more about Buddhism than I do, I think. But here's a bit that I always remember. Life is suffering the Buddha said. And here are the seven exquisite sufferings: birth old age sickness and death.. and here's the ones I relate to as an alcoholic.
* To be tied to what one hates
* To be separated from what one loves
And the kicker
* Not getting what you want
That's me the alcoholic. And this disappointment dissatisfaction frustration negativity resentment bitterness all rooted in self, self, self.
If I can get sane enough to see my selfish way is no good and I need help then I will approach God in any way I can to ask for his care and protection, admitting that His way is better than mine and the only way for me to enjoy this sober blessed happy life is to yield to His way. I do this many times in a day. First I stop and get quiet, then I ask God for insight.
And... This way of life is working really well!
