多くの仲間がすでに分かち合っているように、私は謙虚さを屈辱と同じものだと考え、それに関わりたくありませんでした。屈辱は十分に味わってきました、ありがとう！でも、もう手立てがなく、（AAの）提案に従う覚悟はできていました（今もそうです！）。
提案に従うこと（飲まないこと、ミーティングに行くこと、祈ること、神を信頼すること、自分の側の掃除をすること、他の仲間と関わること）は、私を、自分の意志ではなく神の意志を求め、そして行う人間へと変えてくれました。
謙虚さについて私が知っているのは、それだけです。

Like many have already shared, I equated humility with humiliation and wanted nothing more to do with that. I’d had plenty of humiliation, thank you very much! But I was out of ideas and I was willing to follow directions (and I remain willing!).
Following directions (don’t drink, go to meetings, pray, trust God, clean house, and work with others) has changed me into someone who wants to seek and do God’s will instead of my own.
That’s all I know about humility.
