My name is Beth I am an alcoholic. Happy sober birthday to anyone celebrating. Thank you Chuck for our topic this week. I was not aware of the new book. So thank you for sharing this. I will say this for me I am not a good person for change. I don't do well with change and a change in language maybe hard to take. (for me only) I read and studied the 4th edition of the BB. In the beginning of my sobriety. For me the language of the big book was what I needed. I was given a small dictionary to go with my BB. It was through looking up words and reading I became sober and sober longer, minutes turned into hours into days into months to years.. The BB I know saved my life. I am not saying that this plain language will not work I truly hope it helps even one alcoholic it's worth it. I am happy to have my version of my BB the got me sober and has kept me sober for many days. Just my opinion that changing the language may take away somethings. That is only my opinion.
