Hi, everyone. George, a drunk. Thank you, Laurie, for chairing. Wisconsin is known as the "beer state." Just about everyone drinks. Our town recently held a "Beer Fest." So, when one doesn't drink at a get together around these parts, she or he is treated something akin to an outcast. So, I was invited to one of these parties. When asked if I wanted a drink, I had this intuitive thought and said, "No, thank you." The answer worked perfectly. I wasn't treated any differently than those folks who were imbibing. At my next AA meeting, I shared my experience. Now, many of my friends say when offered a drink, 'No, thank you," and it works every time. Nobody's offended. And that's the way it works for me.
