ミーティングで伝統３が読まれると、
ニューカマーAAに来たばかりの新しい仲間
のころの記憶がよみがえることがあります。初めてＡＡに来て５ヶ月もの間、飲んだくれました。ミーティングで憶えていることは、女性が愚痴を吐き出していたことくらいです。いいですか、この５ヶ月、私は
ホームグループAAの中で自分が所属し、活動の拠点となるグループ
のミーティングに出ていなかったのですよ。あの女性たちが、こんな私を快く受け入れてくれたのに。伝統３「飲酒をやめたいという願いだけである。」本当に酒を止めることは、必要ないのです。酒を飲み続けても状況は良くなることはない、と気づくまでは、そんな自由がありました。伝統３は、ステップ３を思い起こしてくれます。「自分なりに理解した神に、、、決心をした。」決心でよいのです、実際にそうすることは求めらていないのです。

として示されているものである。何でもするという気持ちになった、私たちが進んだ道を同じように徹底してたどって、それでも回復できなかった人を、ほとんど知らない。」「徹底して」というのが、とてもとても重要です。すべて、本当に全部、ほんの一部なんてものではありません。テーマについて、さらに話させてもらうなら、私にとって一番大事なことは、ステップ１で始まるのです。残りのステップは、無意識のうちに、その都度に入ってきます。
確かに、ごちゃごちゃな分かち合いです。いつも通り、難しいですね。

Good morning. I’m Pam, a grateful alcoholic. Thank you Mark for the topic and your share. The third tradition and the core of the recovery program? Our meeting always illuminates the absolute wonders of what’s recommended in the steps and traditions actually transpires.
When I hear the third tradition read in a meeting, I sometimes think of my early exposure to AA. I continued to drink for 5 months after the first meeting. The only thing I remember about those meetings is the women complaining. Note, in those five months I did not attend a meeting of what became my home group where the women took me in so readily. Tradition 3 “…a desire to stop drinking…” No demand to actually do it. Such freedom until the realization that continuing to drink never rights a horrible situation. Tradition 3 also brings to mind step 3, “Made a decision…God as we understood Him,” made a decision with no demand to act on it. Phrases from the Book…”suggested as a program of recovery, willing to go to any length, rarely have we seen a person fail who thoroughly followed our path, honesty,” on and on. “Thoroughly”…so crucial in that it means all, the all of it, no condensed version. To address the topic further …the core for me begins with step one and the rest follow without conscious awareness at the time.
Admittedly this is a rather discombobulated share…as usual I find it difficult to isolate what works without bringing it all together. Peace…
