の今週のミーティングへようこそ。

ミーティングの構成は、司会者がその週のトピックを選び、グループの誰もがそのトピックについて分かち合ったり、あるいはトピックの代わりに、その月に対応するステップや伝統についてシェアすることができます。例えば、11月にはステップ11や伝統11についてシェアすることができます。より多くの仲間の参加を促すことを目的として、最近このように変更しました。

はメールを用いたグループであるため、シェアする人は、他の形式のミーティングで見られるような笑顔やうなずく姿が見えません。私たちの中には、メールで返事を送ることでその共感や賛同を伝える人もいます。しかし、グループ全体への投稿を最小限に抑えるために、個人的なメッセージはグループを通さず、直接その人に送るようお願いしています。

のミーティングは日曜日の未明早朝以降（米国東部標準時）に始まり、次の土曜日の午後11時59分まで、メンバーは分かち合いを行うことが出来ます。全メンバーは、ご自身のAA記念日である・デートに分かち合いを行うことが推奨されています。AA以前の生活がどうだったか。何が起こって、現在はどうなっているかを、グループの仲間に教えてください。

AAやにつながったばかりの方、あるいはまだ比較的新しい方、皆さんを歓迎します。ここで、私や多くの仲間たちが見つけてきた、うまくいく生き方を、皆さんも見つけられることを願っています。AAで節目（バースデー）を迎えたすべての皆さん、おめでとうございます！

私はのメンバーになって30年以上になります。毎週シェアしているわけではありませんが、皆さんの経験と力と希望に耳を傾け（読んで）、そこから学んでいます。

今回、皆さんに提案したいテーマは、「フェローシップの精神（霊性）」（the spirit of the fellowship）と「霊的なフェローシップ」（the Fellowship of the Spirit）の違いについてです。

私がこれまで出席したすべてのミーティングには、フェローシップの精神がありました……。そこには、自分のについて祝い、分かち合い、愚痴をこぼしたり、あるいは何であれ、それぞれの思いを語る仲間たちがいます。これはAAに来た最初の頃の私にとってとても大切なことでした。自分と似たような仲間たちがいて、自分と同じように感じ、自分と同じようなことをしてきた人たちがいる場所に自分はいるのだ、そしてその人たちと自分は分かり合えるのだと感じられたからです。私たちのミーティングの場（対面であれオンラインであれ）で交わされる、本物の笑い、涙、そして愛には、本当に驚かされます。

しかし、やがて私は、ただそこに座って他の人たちと自分を重ね合わせているだけではなく、もっと何かが必要だと感じるようになりました。そこにいる多くの人たちは、ここに来たときに自分が語っていた "私自身" と、それほど違っているようには見えなかった（訳註：あまり変わっていないように見えた）のです。私に必要だったのは、私と同じように徹底的にどん底まで行き、そこで初めて、壁に掲げられたのに実際に取り組み、そのステップを実践することに身を委ねた人たちの話を聞くことでした。私自身がそうだったように、それが自分にとっての答えだとは思っていなかった（訳註：が解決策だと思っていなかった、半信半疑だった）としても、です。そうしたAAメンバーたち（訳註：自分と同じように、迷いながらもステップに取り組んだ仲間たち）は、私にとってヒーローです。彼らは、それが一般受けするものでなかったときでさえ、本当のAAのメッセージを伝えていました。「これらのステップを経た結果、私たちは霊的に目覚め、このメッセージをアルコホーリクに伝え、そして私たちのすべてのことにこの原理を実行しようと努力した。」こうしたメンバーたちは霊的なフェローシップの一員であり、今も私や私と同じような他のアルコホーリクたちを、単にお酒を飲まない状態だけではなく、回復という光の中へと導き続けてくれています。

今では、私たちのミーティングにいる多くの仲間たちは、その違いに気づくことはないでしょうし、もしかすると、そもそもその違いに気づく必要さえないのだと思っています。ミーティングはミーティング、ミーティングはミーティングなのです。「誰もが同じものを必要としているわけではない」と私は言われてきましたし、私自身も時にはそう思います。でも、私自身の人生においては、この二つの間には違いがあることを知っています。そして、前者のような（訳註：霊性を抜きにした）ミーティングにも価値を見いだすことはできますが、後者の仲間たちには、私は永遠に感謝しています。

もちろん、これはあくまでも私自身の経験です……あなたの経験は違うかもしれません。このテーマについてでも、あるいはAAのほかのどんなテーマについてでも、ぜひ皆さん自身の分かち合いをしてください……

WELCOME TO THE ESH WEEKLY MEETING

The structure of an ESH meeting is that the chairperson selects a topic for the week and anyone in the group has the option to share on that topic or as an alternative, a member may share on the step or tradition correlating to the month of the year. For example - in November you may share on Step 11 or Tradition 11. We hope this recent change will encourage more participation.

Since ESH is an email-based group, a person who shares does not see the smile or nodding head that he/she does in other meeting formats.

Some of us provide that validation through an email response. In order to keep the postings to a minimum for the entire group, we do request that personal messages be sent directly to that person and not via the Group.

The ESH meeting will begin no earlier than Sunday morning any time after midnight EST and members are requested to post their shares no later than the following Saturday night at 11:59 PM EST. All members are encouraged to share their A.A. anniversary on their annual sobriety date. Tell the group what your life was like before AA, what happened, and what it's like today.

Welcome to anyone who is new or relatively new to AA or to ESH...I hope you find here what I and many others have found, a way of living which works. Congratulations to any and all celebrating an AA milestone!

I have been a member of ESH for well over 3 decades and while I'm not sharing every week, I am listening (reading) and learning from your ES&H.

The topic that I will propose for us is the difference between the spirit of the fellowship and the Fellowship of the Spirit.

Every meeting that I have ever attended has the spirit of the fellowship...members who are here celebrating, sharing, complaining, whatever about their sobriety. This was important to me early on to feel that I was in a place where others were like me, felt like me, had acted like me, that I could relate to. The real laughter, tears and love that is shown in our rooms (in person or virtual) is amazing.

But there came a time when I needed more than just sitting around and relating to others, many who didn't seem to be much different than the person they spoke of when getting here. What I needed was to listen to those who like me had hit bottom enough where they actually surrendered to taking our 12 Step program off the wall and doing those Steps, even when (like me) they didn't think that was the answer for them. These AA members are my heroes, they carried the actual AA message even when it wasn't popular..."Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs." These members are part of the Fellowship of the Spirit and continue to lead me, and other alcoholics like me, into the light of recovery not just sobriety.

Now I know that many in our rooms are never going to see, or maybe even need to see, the difference as a meeting is a meeting is a meeting. Not everyone needs the same thing is what I've been told, and sometimes believe. But I know that in my life there is a difference between the two, and while I can appreciate meetings with the former, I'm eternally grateful to those in the latter.

Of course this has just been my experience...yours may be different. The meeting is yours to share on this or any other AA topic...
