Thank you for the topic. We have a bond that transcends all of our differences. We have two former commercial airline pilots, a fishing guide, a retired truck driver and on and on. When we are in the room everyone admits their powerlessness and our gratefulness for the God of our understanding equally. I enjoy the retreats, anniversaries, conventions and the jokes that can only be appreciated by us. But most of all I am thankful for the experience, strength and hope that the Fellowship affords me.
Recently I found myself vulnerable to the cunning, baffling and powerful nature of my alcoholism. I strive to do only God’s will and not mine and the life I am experiencing is truly a miracle but I remain an alcoholic. Recently I went down a rabbit hole like one I don’t remember experiencing since I came into the room. I was so far into self that I struggled with it for several days. I reached out but got no response in the time “I” required. So by the time I got with my sponsor, my resentment was deep. I went off on him like an angry sailor. He listened and continued to listen while I finally had blown off the steam. As I am doing this I slowly begin to remember the principles and before it’s over I’ve completed the 10th step,
So the longer I am in this program, the more my alcoholism comes a knocking. So, I better be as spiritually fit as my connection to God affords (Clear Cut Directions).
I am thankful for our Fellowship, my sponsor and the 10th step.
