の今週のミーティングへようこそ。

ミーティングの構成は、司会者がその週のトピックを選び、グループの誰もがそのトピックについて分かち合ったり、あるいはトピックの代わりに、その月に対応するステップや伝統についてシェアすることができます。例えば、11月にはステップ11や伝統11についてシェアすることができます。より多くの仲間の参加を促すことを目的として、最近このように変更しました。

はメールを用いたグループであるため、シェアする人は、他の形式のミーティングで見られるような笑顔やうなずく姿が見えません。私たちの中には、メールで返事を送ることでその共感や賛同を伝える人もいます。しかし、グループ全体への投稿を最小限に抑えるために、個人的なメッセージはグループを通さず、直接その人に送るようお願いしています。

のミーティングは日曜日の未明早朝以降（米国東部標準時）に始まり、次の土曜日の午後11時59分まで、メンバーは分かち合いを行うことが出来ます。全メンバーは、ご自身のAA記念日である・デートに分かち合いを行うことが推奨されています。AA以前の生活がどうだったか。何が起こって、現在はどうなっているかを、グループの仲間に教えてください。

皆さん、こんにちは。私の名前はスーザン・M、回復したアルコホーリクです。1990年9月1日に、神様が私を酒から引き離してくださいました。

先週、の第2章「解決はある」の勉強会で、22ページから25ページ（日本語版 p33-p37）の冒頭までを読みました。基本的に、のこの部分が言っているのは、「私はもう救いようがない」ということです。いくつか例を挙げると、順不同ですが、「何の手だてもなくなってしまう」(p34)、「彼はコントロールを失ってしまったのだ」(p36)、「どんなにやめようと強く決意しても全くどうにもならなくなる」(p36)、「まだ理由ははっきりしていないのだが、ほとんどのアルコホーリクは飲酒についての選択能力を失ってしまっている」(p36)、「私たちは最初の一杯に対してまったく無防備になる」(p33)、「多くの人がやめたくてもやめられないのである」(p37)

――かなり気が滅入る話ですよね。覚えていますか？

私はそのまま25ページ（日本語版p37）をさらに読み進めました。すると、「〜やめられないのである。」の直後に出てくる最初の一文は「解決はある。」でした。

この章の残りの部分では、神様が光を照らし、先ほどの「もう救いようがない」という状態をすべて吹き払うことができるのだと、形を変えて繰り返し私に教えてくれます。ただし、一つ条件があります。それは私が霊的な体験をする必要があるということです。学びを通して徐々に得られるものであろうと、あるいは突然の稲妻のような体験であろうと、どちらでも構いません。神様は扉の前に立ち、この死に至る病（）をいつでも取り去ろうとしてくださっています。今日一日、私は「取り去ってください」と答える準備ができていなければなりません。そして、それに続けて、「自分がすべてを取り仕切っているのではない」ということを強く思い出させてくれる、毎日の取り組みを続けなければなりません。神は父であり、雇い主であり、指揮者です。そして私は、さらに「主人（Master）」を加えたいと思います。なぜなら私は、回復という恵みを与えられ、神の命じられるままに出かけて行って、人々に奉仕する者だからです。

「もう救いようがない」という状態から、あなたはどうやって自由へとたどり着いたのでしょうか？あなたにとって、一日一日の解決策とは何ですか？

WELCOME TO THE ESH WEEKLY MEETING

The structure of an ESH meeting is that the chairperson selects a topic for the week and anyone in the group has the option to share on that topic or as an alternative, a member may share on the step or tradition correlating to the month of the year. For example - in November you may share on Step 11 or Tradition 11. We hope this recent change will encourage more participation.

Since ESH is an email-based group, a person who shares does not see the smile or nodding head that he/she does in other meeting formats.

Some of us provide that validation through an email response. In order to keep the postings to a minimum for the entire group, we do request that personal messages be sent directly to that person and not via the Group.

The ESH meeting will begin no earlier than Sunday morning any time after midnight EST and members are requested to post their shares no later than the following Saturday night at 11:59 PM EST. All members are encouraged to share their A.A. anniversary on their annual sobriety date. Tell the group what your life was like before AA, what happened, and what it's like today.

Good day to all. My name is Susan M, a recovered alcoholic. God separated me from alcohol on 9/1/90.

Last week in a Big Book study on Chapter 2 - There Is A Solution we read pages 22-to the top of 25. Basically, this portion of the BB says I am doomed. Here are a few examples, in no particular order: …”little can be done for him”…”he has lost control”…”the most powerful desire to stop drinking is of absolutely no avail”…”The fact is that most alcoholics, for reasons yet obscure, have lost the power of choice in drink”…”we are without defense against the first drink”…”he has probably placed himself beyond human aid.”…”so many want to stop but cannot.”

Rather glum – do you remember?

I did go ahead and read further on page 25 and the first sentence after “cannot” is: *There Is A Solution.”*

The remainder of the chapter tells me in one form or another that God can shine light and dispel all the above doomed statements. The only caveat being that I must have a spiritual experience…whether it be the education variety or a sudden lightning experience matters not. God is standing at the door ready to take away this deadly disease one day at a time and I must be willing to say yes, one day at a time, and then follow it up with my those daily disciplines that emphasize that I am not in charge. God is the Father, Employer, Director and I add Master because I am graced with recovery to go out and serve at His bidding.

How did you get from doomed to freedom? What is your daily solution?
